It may sound like an oxymoron associating the term “Vegan” to leather, which is obtain from animals. So, what is behind vegan leather, and what is it?

You may often read that vegan leather is a well, ethical, sustainable, and cruelty-free alternative to traditional leather. It can be obtained from plant-derived fibers, which are processed in such a way to have resistance, appearance and breathability similar to animal skin.

Numerous companies have invested in the production of plant-derived leather in recent years, offering several valid and innovative alternatives to animal leather, such as vegan skin from apples, pineapples, mushrooms, olive leaves, grapes, wine, corn, etc. Often these vegan skins are obtained from production waste, in order to reduce the impact on the environment respecting the philosophy of circular economy.

The result are good-looking products made out of natural materials, without harming any animals.

At Kauri Store, you can enjoy vegan shoes by Veja Kids and Womsh, and amazing bags by Melina Bucher.
