Sustainable Innovation & Certificates

Sustainability is not only about nature and environment, it is also about people and fair working conditions. That’s why we keep the production very close in Europe and are honest, fully transparent and proud on the way we produce each item. Most of the production takes please in Italy, Greece and generally in Europe where acceptable conditions are granted by the current legislation and the company is able to directly control the real working conditions.

Here is an overview of our producers’ certificates and innovations.

ECONYL ® GARNE

Fishing nets have become a huge problem for marine life. But with some smart innovations and technology, fashion can be the answer to saving marine life.

Recycled Nylon is considered a much more sustainable material, helping to offset oil use, emitting fewer greenhouse gases and conserving water and energy in the process.

The best known is ECONYL®, which uses synthetic waste to recycle and regenerate it into a new nylon yarn.

MODAL EDELWEISS®

Lenzing Modal®, Lenzing's modal fiber, is like the Edelweiss: made in Austria, pure and natural. Full integration at the Austrian site makes it possible to produce the fiber in an environmentally friendly way due to energy surpluses and the extraction of wood recyclables. Even the pulp production in Lenzing is energy self-sufficient and acts itself as the most important energy supplier for the entire production.

ORGANIC CONTENT STANDARD

The Organic Content Standard blended (OCS blended) enables companies to record the exact proportion of organic material in a product and to track it through the production chain. The overarching "Content Claim Standard" in the OCS defines, among other things, the traceability of goods and transparency in the production chain. The goal is to increase organic farmland for fiber production. Learn more at Textileexchange.

OEKO-TEX ® STANDARD 100

Examples of elements that stand for certification: raw and dyed/finished yarn, raw and dyed/finished fiber, ready-made articles (all kinds of clothing, home textiles and household goods, bedding, towels , toys, textiles and more). Testing criteria for harmful substances are illegal substances, harmful substances (but not regulated by law), chemicals, and health care standards. All Re-Bello products made of Jersey Bamboo, Eucalyptus - Tencel ® and Beech (Modal Edelweiss) are Oeko-Tex® certified. Learn more on Oeko-Tex.

GOTS

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognized as the world's leading standard for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibers. At a high level, it defines environmental requirements along the entire textile production chain and at the same time requires compliance with social criteria. You can find out more under GOTS.
